How to Rent Equipment in El Paso

A plain-English walkthrough of the rental process β€” from your first call to loading the truck at our Montana Avenue yard.

Step 1: Match the machine to the job

The biggest cost in any rental isn't the daily rate β€” it's renting the wrong machine. A dump trailer that's too small doubles your trips. A skid steer that's too big can't fit through the gate.

Call us and describe the job in one sentence: what you're moving, how far, and where. We'll tell you the smallest machine that gets it done.

  • Yard cleanup or single-load haul-off β€” utility trailer or 7x14 dump trailer
  • Sod removal, small grading, trenching β€” mini skid steer with the right attachment
  • Sub-base or driveway prep β€” plate compactor or walk-behind roller
  • Tree limbs and yard debris β€” wood chipper sized to the branch diameter

Step 2: Request a quote or reserve

The fastest path is a phone call to (915) 895-7400 β€” most rentals are confirmed in under five minutes. Prefer to type? Send us a quote request with your dates, ZIP, and equipment.

For weekends, month-end, and spring cleanup season, reserve 24–48 hours ahead. Same-day pickup is often available midweek.

Step 3: Paperwork and deposits

When you arrive at the yard, we'll do a quick check-in. Have these ready:

  • Valid driver's license (renter must be 21+)
  • Proof of insurance for the tow vehicle on towable rentals
  • Credit or debit card for the security deposit β€” held, not charged, until return
  • Business info if you're renting on a company account

Step 4: Delivery or pickup

Pickup at our yard is free and usually the fastest option. Delivery lets your crew stay on the clock β€” we'll drop off at your jobsite anywhere in the El Paso metro.

If we're delivering, make sure there's a clear staging area at least the length of the trailer plus 20 feet, with no low branches or wires overhead.

Step 5: On the jobsite

Every rental leaves the yard with a hands-on walk-through: safety controls, kill switch, fuel type, tie-down points, and any quirks unique to that unit.

Follow the fuel and fluid specs we hand you at pickup. If anything feels off β€” a warning light, a smell, a funny noise β€” stop and call us. We'd rather send a tech than watch a machine get hurt.

Step 6: Return without surprises

Return the machine clean, fueled, and on time. Sweep out trailers, knock loose mud off tracks, and top off the tank. Missing any of these adds a small service fee β€” nothing wild, but easy to avoid.

If the job runs long, call before your return window closes. Extensions are simple; unannounced late returns aren't.

Pro tips from our yard crew

  • Book the machine for a full day even if you only need it a few hours β€” the daily rate is almost always cheaper than the hourly premium plus travel time.
  • Take a phone photo of the equipment before you leave the yard. It documents condition and saves any disagreement later.
  • Ask us for the brochure PDF. It has spec sheets, capacities, and operator quick-reference cards.
